About St. Augustine Sub-Zero Repair

This is the nation’s oldest city. We think a refrigerator that has held its post for thirty years deserves the same respect the coquina walls get.

St. Augustine Sub-Zero Repair is an independent, locally focused Sub-Zero repair company serving St. Augustine and its surrounding communities — Davis Shores, Anastasia Island, Palencia, and World Golf Village. We are not factory service; we are the people who keep out-of-warranty units running, price every job in writing, and stay inside the city so the schedule holds.

For Sub-Zero repair across St. Augustine — from Davis Shores to World Golf Village — call the old city line at (904) 892-7163 or book online.

What we do, and what we don’t

We repair Sub-Zero® refrigeration — only Sub-Zero, and only here. That narrow focus is deliberate. A tech who sees the same boards, valves, and sealed systems every week gets faster and more accurate than one who jumps between a dozen brands, and a van stocked for the local housing stock fixes more units on the first visit.

We do not chase warranty work we have no business touching. Units from the current CL and DET/DEC generation — late 2022 onward — usually still carry factory coverage, and Factory Certified Service should be your first call. We say that plainly, then earn our keep on everything outside coverage: the classic 500 and 600 boxes, the BI built-ins, and the wave of post-flood units now reaching their first major service.

Why we stay inside the city

St. Augustine is its own world — flood-scarred island blocks, salt-laden oceanfront, inland golf-corridor builds, all within a short drive. Each has its own failure pattern, and we have learned them street by street. Keeping the radius tight means we know whether your call is more likely a corroded condenser on Anastasia Island or a scaled ice-maker valve in Palencia before we arrive.

It also keeps us honest about timing. Boaters in Camachee Cove get first-of-the-morning slots so the tide is not wasted. Nobody waits a week because the technician is two counties away. A small, focused operation cannot be everywhere — so we are reliably somewhere.

How we price, and how we earn trust

Every visit starts with a diagnosis and ends with a number you approve before the toolbox opens. Most repairs land between $250 and $1,100; compressor and sealed-system work runs higher and is quoted firm only after a refrigerant-side inspection — never on a guess. Diagnostic-first is not a slogan; it is the only way to give an honest quote on a unit that could need a $300 fan or a $2,500 sealed-system repair.

We would rather lose a sale than sell a doomed repair. On a saltwater-flooded unit, or one facing a fix that approaches a third of replacement cost, we will tell you to walk away. The details of booking and what to have ready live on the contact page.

Questions owners ask about the shop

Are you Sub-Zero factory service or factory certified?

No, and we never claim to be. We are an independent repair company with no affiliation to Sub-Zero Group, Inc. For units still under factory warranty — the 2022-and-newer CL and DET/DEC generation — we will point you to Factory Certified Service first, because that is the right door. Everything out of warranty is our trade.

Why do you only work in St. Augustine and the immediate area?

Because a tight radius is what lets us keep promises. When the route stays inside St. Augustine — Davis Shores out to World Golf Village — the schedule holds, the van carries the parts that match the local housing stock, and we are not stuck in traffic on the far side of the county when your refrigerator quits. Focus is a feature here, not a limit.

What kinds of Sub-Zero units do you actually service?

Every series we are likely to meet in an old-city kitchen: the classic 500 and 600 over-unders and side-by-sides, the BI built-in line, the PRO units, Designer and integrated columns, wine storage, and undercounter boxes. From a 1990 model 550 to a 2021 BI-42SD, the diagnostic discipline is the same — we just bring different parts.

Do you give honest advice when a repair is not worth it?

Always. We would rather lose a sale than sell a doomed repair, especially on a saltwater-flooded unit or one facing sealed-system work that approaches a third of new cost. The whole reason an independent shop survives in a town this size is that owners trust the determination. We protect that by telling you the truth, in writing.

Durable things deserve care.

Tell us the model and the symptom, and we will arrive with the right parts the first time.
